Elizabeth Corbin Murphy, FAIA Elizabeth Corbin Murphy, FAIA is immediate past chair of the Advisory Group for the American Institute of Architects National Committee on Historic Resources. She was a member of the Design Awards Jury for the year 2000 AIA National Honor Awards and the design Awards Jury for 2003 AIA Cleveland Honor Awards. Along with being a member of the Board of Regents for the American Architectural Foundation and serving on the Octagon Committee, Ms. Murphy is president of Chambers, Murphy & Burge Restoration Architects, Ltd. The firm, founded as Chambers & Chambers Architects over forty years ago, is dedicated solely to preservation and restoration technology and design. Elizabeth and her partner consult with other architects on projects like Peabody Hall at Miami University, the Supreme Court Building in Columbus, and the South Euclid Public Library. Elizabeth is working with Edsel & Eleanor Ford House to develop a Cyclical Maintenance Plan for the care of the six Albert Kahn structures at Gaukler Point. The Cyclical Maintenance Plan for the Henry Ford Estate in Dearborn incorporates 13 structures, in a Jens Jensen landscape. With a Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Notre Dame and her Master of Architecture in Preservation of the Built Environment from Kent State University, Elizabeth is an adjunct professor at the Kent State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design. She has led six Charles E. Peterson Prize winning teams of students to complete HABS drawings, and received an award in the same competition as a graduate student.
